A.W. Brooks Serenity Home, Inc. is a nonprofit organization based in Birmingham, Alabama,

committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and trauma-informed residential home for teenage girls ages

14–18 who have experienced abuse, neglect, foster care placement, or housing instability.

Teenage girls are one of the most underserved groups within the child welfare system. Many are often

moved from place to place during some of the most important years of their lives, leaving them without

the stability and support they need to heal and thrive. A.W. Brooks Serenity Home was created to

change that reality by providing a place where girls can experience safety, consistency, and

encouragement.

Our approach is centered on the SHE Model — Strong, Healing, Empowered. Through this

framework, we focus on emotional healing, personal development, educational support, and life skills

that prepare young women for independence and success. We believe that when girls are given the

right environment and guidance, they can overcome trauma and build meaningful futures.

The organization is named in honor of Pastor Arthur W. Brooks, whose legacy of faith, compassion,

and community service continues to inspire the mission of Serenity Home. His vision of uplifting and

protecting young people lives on through the work of this organization.

A.W. Brooks Serenity Home is currently in the development phase, working toward building a

purpose-driven home designed specifically for teenage girls who need stability, healing, and hope.

When our girls win… Birmingham wins.
